Opti-Clean Cooling Tunnels

FPA is excited to debut the Opti-Clean Tunnel. This Cooling Tunnel is the newest edition to our innovative Cooling Tunnel line.

Sanitation and cleanability are two terms moving to the forefront for those in food manufacturing. Food allergen related issues remain the number one cause of product recalls in North America, necessitating improvements in allergen and sanitation processes for food producers. The Opti-Clean tunnel is designed to meet the new standards of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA).

Cleaning, Sanitation, Efficiency, Modularity, and Value are top priorities.

Cleaning and Sanitation:
The top hoods, pressure duct, and deck are all lightweight and have tool less access for sanitation. Hoods open from either side for easy accessibility and cleaning. Gaskets have been eliminated! The joints are all tongue and groove eliminating any nooks, crevices, and harborages which can be sanitation nightmares.

Efficiency:
The uniqueness of this tunnel rests in the design. The chilled air is gently applied to the product and is recirculated, making it extremely energy efficient. Tight fits and thermal design reduce the amount of chilled air escaping from the tunnel. The top hood has a 2" insulated barrier and the base has a 3" insulated barrier ensuring the required environment for cooling.

Modularity:
Each Tunnel comes in 6 ft. sections. The air handling unit and drive unit are accessible from either side with a stainless base and insulated access doors. The stainless steel belt deck is liftable from both sides and rests securely back into place after cleaning.

Value:
Due to its modularity, installation and set-up time are kept to a minimum. The top hood and base are made from ABS Plastic. ABS Plastic is a combination of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene resins and is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for food contact. ABS is hard and durable through a broad range of temperatures and is a highly versatile plastic. FPA uses a solvent to create plastic welds at all ABS joints eliminating harborage points between components. Seamless tunnel installations never thought possible are now a reality with the new FPA Opti-Clean Tunnel.
